要旨

Impaired cellular immune function during pregnancy often deteriorates to viral infections. Some viruses such as rubellavirus, herpes simplex virus (HSV), human parvovirus (B19), and cytomegalovirus (CMV) injure fetuses directly; othersaffect pregnancy outcome through systemic inflammatory responses and subsequent placental dysfunction and/or uterinecontraction. However, there are numerous reports suggesting possible placental barriers thah protect the fetus from mostviral infections including those from human immunodeficiency viruses and human T cell leukemia viruses (HTLV).Basic scientists and clinicians should investigate the anti viral local immune response in decidual tissue that allows fetalsurvival as a successful allograft and which protects maternal tissue from excessive trophoblast invasion.
